MID-LONG TERM TRENDS FOR THE PENSIONS, HEALTH AND LONG-TERM CARE SYSTEMS 2024 – REPORT n. 25

The Report presents the medium and long-term expenditure projections (as a share of GDP) of pension, health and long-term care expenditures carried out for the 2024 Economic and Finance Document (DEF 2024), approved by the Council of Ministers on April, 9 ^th 2024.

In addition, the Report includes three Boxes with a special focus on:

• the analysis of the financial effects of the overall reform cycle of the pension system;
• an in-depth look at the definition of the health components of long-term care expenditure;
• an examination of the impact on replacement rates of the automatic update of the transformation coefficients and the retirement eligibility requirements.
